The predestination means deciding in advance, and applies to the purposes of God included in the election. The election is the choice made by God in Christ, of a people for himself (the real church). The predestination covers what will happen to the people of God (all genuine believers in Christ).

God predestines its elected to be: Called (Rm. 8:30); justified (Rm. 3:24, 8:30); glorified (Rm. 8:30); conformed to the image of the Son (Rm. 8:29) ; Saints and inculpáveis (Ef.1.4); adopted as children (Ef.1.5); redeemed (Ef.1.7); participants of an inheritance (Ef.1.14), for the praise of his glory (Ef.1.12, 1 Father 2:9); participants of the Holy Spirit (Ef.1.13; Gl 3.14), and created in Christ Jesus for good works (Ef.2.10).


The predestination, and the election, refers to the collective body of Christ (the true church), and covers individuals only when included in this body, through the living faith in Jesus Christ (Ef.1.5, 7.13; At. 2 :38-41, 16:31).

SUMMARY: Regarding the election and predestination, we can apply the analogy of a large ship traveling to heaven. God chooses the ship (the church) to be his own ship. Christ is the Captain and pilot of that ship. Everybody that want to be into in that ship, they may do so by living faith in Christ. While still on the ship, accompanying her Captain, will be among the elected, if someone leaves the ship and its captain, will no longer be one of those elected.
